Saanich Peninsula
The Saanich Peninsula is is one of the oldest agricultural settlements in British Columbia and is divided into South, Central and North Saanich, with Victoria at the south end and the International Airport and BC Ferry terminal towards the northern tip.
Saanich has a rich history of farming with over 60 per cent of the land base in the area in the Agricultural Land Reserve (ALR). Lying in the rain shadow of both the Vancouver Island Ranges and the Olympic Mountains, the Saanich Peninsula is one of the driest spots on Vancouver Island.
